Hard drive drought!

Due to the recent floods in Thailand, there is now a worldwide shortage of hard drives. A large proportion of hard drive manufacturing facilities are based in Thailand, and many have been severely compromised by flood water. It is estimated that it will take at least two months to get production up and running again, in the meantime other manufacturing facilities in the Philippines are stepping up production to try and fill the demand. Some hard drive suppliers are limiting the amount of drives any one customer can purchase, and this is having a drastic effect on prices, seeing a 25% increase in drive prices in the last ten days. As such, we are now having to pass these increases on to our customers. As soon as the supply comes back on line, prices should fall and this will be reflected in our repair costs accordingly.
